OMG, your hair!

Some say that having a great job or a great personality is the best compliment (and they are great) but personally I think having great hair is the best.
Coming from 3 girls who get blow outs at least once a week, I think we can come to the conclusion that we are a little hair obsessed, so listen up!

For the last year or so, ombre was so in, and we still love it but the new and improved color trend this year? Ecaille, which means tortoiseshell in French (fancy, we know). When you hear "the tortoiseshell technique" think golden highlights paired with darker, rich caramel tones. The difference between ecaille and ombre is the contrast in colors. In order to achieve ecaille color, you don't want a line of separation between darks and lights, but instead, lighter, softer colors around the face and ends. Fascinating, we know!
Regardless, it is awesome for blondes, brunettes and every one in between.

Other color trends this year... straight up blonde.
Apparently platinum hair has been one of the top searches on YouTube so far.
Although blonde is great, blonde can also be difficult because of all the variations.
Warm Blonde vs. Cool Blonde
A warm blonde has more of a yellow tone, while a cool blonde is whiter.
And then there's every color in between.

As blondes get blonder, reds get deeper.

Now that you know what color to dye your hair, let's talk about how to get those amazing, beautiful, natural looking waves.
Realistically speaking, no one actually wakes up in the morning with hair resembling Candace Swanepoel's tousled curls.

So, in order to achieve this look, you will need:
A thickening spray. We use and love Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray.
A curling iron: 1 inch preferred, but whatever you have already should be okay.
2 Hair Ties.

- Wash your hair with warm to cool water.
(Absolutely NOT hot. Hot water dries your scalp and damages your ends!)
- Spray Bumble & Bumble thickening spray from root to end.

- Flip your head over, and dry upside down.

- Using the curling wand, curl one inch sections, leaving an inch on the ends straight (this creates a more natural look) split your hair into 2 sections and wrap into Princess Leia buns.
Let this sit for 15-20 minutes.

- Let down your locks, blow dry upside down, shake it out, and let it set with Bumble to Bumble Hairspray.
Finally, check yourself out in the mirror for at least 3 minutes before going on with your day.

To prove that this can totally be done at home, We tested it out on ourselves.

Try it and let us know what you think!
